These traditional Southern candies make sweet tea-time treats or a welcome gourmet gift.Ingredients | Coconut Praline PecansCrisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray1 ½ cups firmly packed brown sugar1 cup granulated sugar⅔ cup PET® Evaporated Milk1 tablespoon light corn syrup3 tablespoons Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening½ teaspoon vanilla extract1 ½ cups coarsely chopped pecans¼ teaspoon cream of tartarDirectionsCoat a baking sheet lightly with no-stick cooking spray.Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, evaporated milk and corn syrup in 3-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cover and boil 1 minute. Uncover. Cook over medium heat, without stirring, to 235 degrees F on candy thermometer. Remove from heat.Add shortening, vanilla, pecans and cream of tartar. Stir with wooden spoon until mixture thickens slightly. Do not overstir. Let the mixture stand 3 minutes.
